So I started a new job a few weeks ago.... and I love it. I am working in Madras at Edward Jones with Annette Vardanega and she rocks :o) We are busy and the days fly! There is always something to do... which is unlike my last job. The days were passed mainly by playing on the internet all day and being stuck there in case someone decided to either call or drop in. Sooo... it has been quite an adjustment on my "Personal Time" at work.... I am getting used to the fact that the Investment Industry is a highly regulated industry so every little thing I do on the computer is monitored in St. Louis, so therefor all my daytime facebooking comes from my wonderful Morotola Q9C cell phone :o) and I do not send personal e-mail on it... also props to my Motorola Smartphone :o) But... sending messages and writing on my cell phone takes longer... They do not prohibit me from personal use on the computers... I am just not sure that I want someone in a different state seeing every aspect of my life.... Ha ha... and now I having to make time to balance my checkbook at home! Yikes!

I can't believe another summer is coming to an end! Where on earth do the summers go??? Last weekend we were going to go to the lake... and it just wasn't hot enough. Instead we went to Bend and when we drove by the bank it said it was only 78 degrees... Brrr... For August anyway!!! Maybe we will get to escape to the lake for a day during the Memorial Day weekend... COME ON HEAT!!! This can't be the end! We should have a whole nother month!

This weekend we are headed to Seattle to visit the Waller's. We are really looking forward to it. We went last June and had such a great time! Saturday night we are going to watch a Mariner's game. Jaime got box tickets! This will be Stet and I's first Pro game :o)

I guess that is all I have to report for now...

We made it home from Crescent City last weekend. It was a good trip. Stetson's grandparents from Southern California were visiting so we thought we better make the 6 hour trip opposed to the 20+ hour trip it would be to go to their house in Hemet. We got some good visiting in. We left at noon Friday to put us there in time for dinner then headed home on Sunday Morning and guess what... We get to turn around and go back this coming weekend. One of Stetson's friends is getting married so we will be burning up the road once again.

NEW CRITTERS FOR THE FISH TANK

Last night we went over to Danny and Jennifers. Danny went and got an entire ice chest FULL of crawdads for dinner. We snagged 5 lucky crawdads for our fish tank so we will try and keep these ones alive. I must have ate at least 35 crawdads.... There is so little meat and so much waste, I actually feel a little guilty about eating them!!! There were a few cousins in town so we got to do a bit of visiting.

Tonight I am headed home to plant some flowers. I have a flower bed that is bare and it needs some color. Stetson and I went and bought a few flowers for it yesterday. Trying to find flowers for a shaded area, was about a joke but we managed to find a few less attractive ones... Then after planting some flowers I am making dinner for everyone....

I guess that is about all there is to report...

Wow, it feels like I just keep getting hit with things and my frusteration level is peaking!!! This has just not been a good year...

I am going to have to give it some pretty good thought to think of something positive....

One positive would be that we will be paying much less to Uncle Sam this year, since our expenses are through the roof and our income is not near what is generaly is... WHEN is this economy going to pick up!?!?!?!? Why is it that Stetson and I's occupations both have to be tied to housing :o( Maybe I should switch fields... become a vet or something... then I would not have had to write a $500 check on Monday to hear, "lay her off for six months" granted he did do an ultrasound and inject fluid into her tendon.... But OUCH! Thats just after spending $600 on my other horse. Have I mentioned that it has been almost 10 years since I have had a vet bill!?!?!? I generally have sound horses and then WHAM!

I went for a run yesterday and went spinning today. I think my broken toes are finally healed to a point where they do not begin throbbing about half way through. I am running a 10k July 11th, so I have to get serious, therwise you can peel me off the road somewhere between the start and finish line, because I am pretty sure I am going to die... I am going to run 2 or 3 times a week until then and start increasing my distance. I only ran 2.5 miles yesterday....

I can't say I am a big Monday fan...

Here I am back at work. After a hecktic week last week. Today is off to a much more mellow start.

The weekend was great. Super low key.

I got my horses rode Friday, Saturday and Sunday... that is quite an accomplishment lately. My little one is now lame. I NEVER have vet bills and Cuda just cost me $600+ dollars to get him all fixed and now Jube is Lame.... Sooo... Stetson hauled her over to the Vet for me this morning and I am going to have to take her back next Monday for an ultrasound but he thinks she may have tore a tendon..... YUCK!!!! We will wait and see how much this is going to cost me, not to mention the down time she is going to need to heal.... Super Crappy Deal!!!!

Friday night we had plans to go to the Sister's Rodeo but it was downpouring so we decided against it. Instead we hit up the Bad Monkey Pub and Grub for dinner. Since we had planned to go to the rodeo, I had neglected to take anything out for dinner. Dad went with us since mom was out of town and he was not wanting to cook.

We decided on Saturday to turn our fishtank Koi into the pond. 1. They are HUGE!!! 2. They keep picking on the crawdad and eating all his food. So we took then to the pond and turned them loose... I will report back on how that turns out... We went back to the house to discover our Crawdad had kicked the bucket!?!?!? Stetson decided to clean the tank and found him in the ship... If we would have known that we would not have turned the Koi out, we were doing him a favor. We had both seen him the past evening, what the heck... So now our tank sits empty...

We went to the Sister's Rodeo on Saturday night and got to socialize with some friends and watch a good rodeo. It started to rain, but only lightly sprinkled for like ten minutes... WHEW! I guess that was my ounce of good luck for the month...

Sunday we went to Bend and ran some much needed errands. I also got my house picked up *Note: Not cleaned, just picked up* Made some Chicken Casserole for Dinner and Watched the Playoff game that ended horribly.

The sun has finally arrived and I hope it is here to stay. I worked diligently on my tan over the weekend. It worked pretty effectively :O) I am going for a run outside today (also an effort to brown myself) Myself and one of my coworkers are going to go for a jog (Yes a little motivator).

Tonight a bunch of girls are coming out to the house to ride. Calf and Can, the series we started last year, Starts next Wednesday so a bunch of girls wanted to come and get in the arena before the first jackpot. I am hoping to have my horse back to 100% by then. I am not sure if I mentioned but he has been lame for almost 9 weeks now! He hurt his foot and I turned him out for almost 6 weeks, in an effort to avoid having to pay vet bills and I also did not need him until June... well after 6 weeks I finally took him in. After a chiropractic session, X-rays and steroid injections... AND over $600in vet bills... I think he is cured... but I will know for sure when I ride him tonight... Well, I will know tomorrow anyway.

Tomorrow evening a baby shower, the following evening an awards banquet, The a B-Day BBQ... wow... NO PLANS NEXT WEEK! I must have some down time... soon, very soon.

Well, Everyone have a wonderful time in the much needed sunshine.

Well, here I am back at work, trying to get back in the groove.

Last Monday we got a phone call and we traveled to CA for a family emergency. We returned Saturday and I must say it is nice to be home! Last week was a long and sad week. Stetson's father passed away Monday Morning. We spent all last week in CA helping make arrangements and we were so blessed with family. Tuesday Stetson's grandparents flew in and that was really helpful then all 10 of Cody's Brother's and Sister's made the trip and it really helped to pick everyone up. The service was amazing!

Yes, Yes, here I am... a month after my last post... So horrible, I know!!! Granny keeps reminding me how long it has been since I last posted. She seems to be the one that is saddened by my absence.

The new job is busier than the last so I do not have near as much time for updating... I guess that is good if it translates to me keeping a job permanently rather than temporarily like originally thought! Getting photos uploaded seems to be a real trick with my new lack of time. Not to mention, I have not been taking many photos. I need to work on that.

Hmm... what is new, Stetson has been working off and on.

It has been raining for like a week straight and it is getting really old! The weather man is not giving us any hope that the sun will come anytime soon.

I think that is about all to report.

When is this crumby economy going to pick up??? It feels like NEVER.

Well, nothing to report these days. I am still working at the Title Company, First Oregon Title and that is going well. I can now say I actually feel like I know what I am doing :o)

Stetson is not working right now. The construction world has slowed a lot around here. He's been making phone calls and keeping himself busy at home until some work comes along.

Two of my Three horses are currently lame, which leaves me with only one to ride. Jube, I have between 30 and 40 rides on her now. COBRA is this Sunday and I am not POSITIVE what I am going to ride... I think Kristina may lend me a pony???

Hello Everyone,

Well.... not a whole lot to report.... I have spent my last few days wondering why.... Why I accidentally dumped flour all over my kitchen in an attempt to cook, why my dog threw up ALL over the floor, why my Internet at home seems to fritz out when I am ALMOST done doing something and ABOUT to hit the submit button, why my favorite TV channel has seemed to have disappeared and why the heck the weather guy keeps delaying our 50 degree day that is supposedly coming... Ahhh... The joys of life :o)

I spent this weekend with my ponies. Saturday was COBRA (Central Oregon Barrel Racing Assoc) and then Sunday I went and dinked around for a bit at Madras Saddle Club. I took Jube, it was her very first trip to town and her 23rd ride. She did good. She had the case of "Big Eyes" but she maintained herself really well :o)

Friday night we had some friends over for dinner. I made Elk Parmesan and we played the Wii... Saturday after COBRA my cousin and his wife came over and we finished off the leftover elk parmesan and again... played the Wii... and last night, We played the Wii, minus the elk parmesan and plus shrimp, corn and red potatoes :o) You would think I am all Wii'ed out but I'm not!!!

Well, the new job is good. I really like it and it is refreshing to learn new things :o) The schedule is flexible as long as someone is here which is a nice change of pace from my last office. If I needed to be gone it was a total hassle and revolved around everyone elses schedules...

Last weekend we went to the Mountain and it was super nice. We snowboarded all over the mountain and I was sore for like 3 days!!! Right off the bat I had a nice little wreck and did like 3 cartwheels down the mountain... But I got back up and off we went...

Well, I guess that is all the new for now.

A DAY IN PORTLAND

Yesterday, Mom, Kristina and I went to Portland to do some shopping. It was a blast. We left Madras at 7 am yesterday morning and did not make it home until Midnight!!! We met up with Janice (a good friend of mom's) and she drove us around to all the hot spots :o) We headed to the Olive Garden for lunch. I was pulling for Red Lobster, but there was not one in the area (Bummer). For an all day shopping trip it sure seemed like we did not see much. We never left Clackamas, all day! Wow I wish I had like three days to shop! I came home to access the pocketbook damages, but really it was not bad at all! I am ready to go back! :o)

This week has warmed up a bit and I am loving it. It is in the 40's. Warm enough to get by with just a sweatshirt outside :o) I am liking it.

Well... back to cleaning the house, then to the barn to ride the horses!

It is COLDDDD outside!

I spent my afternoon in the barn getting all my horses rode. I have been riding outside the past week or so, but today was feeling a bit brisk to venture outdoors so I played it safe in the barn. Afterward, I was headed back for the house (short distance, 40+/- yards?). It was so cold I decided to run to shorten the torture... Bad idea. My joints ached and my legs did not even feel like they were functioning! Yikes! BRISK IS RIGHT!

I can't wait for the next 95 to 105 degree day! I miss summer and we are only half way through with winter.....

BURNING TIME

Well, I am sitting here waiting for it to get light outside so I can go for a run. I have been running on my treadmill and I am in need of a scenery change... That or I need to place a TV in front of my treadmill!?! So tick, tock, tick, tock.... til the sun pops up.

Yesterday I went into First Oregon Title in Madras and got some details worked out. My cousin and friends work there and Stacey (the cousin) is due March 3rd and they need someone to cover for her while she is gone. So I am going to go in February and will be there a few months, maybe longer if the economy would pick up (ha ha, right!?!?) I am not holding my breath. It will be nice to get some Title and Escrow experience, it will go well with my 7 1/2 years of real estate experience... Then if I could get some experience in a lending office.. that would really broaden my capabilities :o)

ALMOST LIGHT OUT... I had better go get ready :o)

So today is my last day of work... and I forgot my purse. I had errands to run... not anymore! Plus I have lunch plans and I had to call her and tell her I am a total dork and left the house naked... So she said she was buying... This is the first time in like 8 years I have went somewhere and forgot my purse! I remembered my phone, and laptop... but no purse for me today! Good thing I got gas last night, my gas light was on and I would not have been able to make it home if I hadn't! (I'll count that as good news???)

I just ate lunch at the Bagel Market here in Prineville, and they have the BEST bagel sandwiches! I had a Turkey Swiss with avocado and cucumber, YUM!

So Stetson called me from work yesterday and one of the Masons on his job site backed into our Dodge Dakota... It was not bad at all (so we thought) Stetson got a quote last night and it was $1500 and I got a quote this morning for $1800!!! Good thing the rig that backed into has insurance!!! So, if you visit our house right now, two of the three cars out front have dents. Grrr... I still have not fixed my car from hitting a deer in December... and now this... We decided not to turn the car into Insurance since our deductible is $500 and the parts to fix it come to about that. So we are going to just start picking the parts up and Stetson is planning to fix it... someday...

If you are wondering why I have been slacking at blogging... this is why... there never seems to be any good news to report (Since December started anyway)... It's always just bad, so I generally opt not to report on all of our dilemmas and my frusterations! :o)

So after almost 3 years working with Brooks Resources Realty.... I am sad to say I have been layed off :o( I will be working til Friday and then they are paying me for a month that I do not have to work to give me time to find a new job. They assured me if they started picking up and the economy turns around they will give me a call... but for know... who knows??? I hate having to look for employment...

I really and truley wish December turns around! I have had a horrible month. It seems like if it is not one thing, it's another! Last Monday I hit a deer in my car, this Monday Stetson's truck overheated, it is 3 DEGREES outside right now....yes, that's right, 3 degrees! I am hardly even touching on the events that have taken place this month, just a few headliners! At some point, my luck must turn around... right? The one good thing that has came out of this month... We took Christmas pictures and I ordered our holiday cards today :o) Janurary had better be nicer!

Stet and I had a nice weekend.

Friday night consisted of heading straight to the couch when we got home from work... and that's were we stayed all night! It was nice. We watched Entertainment Tonight, Ghost Whisperer and ate popcorn chicken (I have decided this is not a favorite food)... We were both wiped out. The short week for Thanksgiving made last week seem like an eternity!

Saturday I woke up and was wide awake, so in an attempt to let Stetson sleep in, I went out and caught my horses. I got a good ride in on Cuda and Smo and I spent some time with Jube, my three year old colt. I got her loaded up in the trailer and worked on mellowing her out a bit. She is a TOTAL livewire and she is going to take LOTS of work to get her to a point I feel comfortable getting on her. Right now she spooks of EVERYTHING! Which I can't blame her, last Spring she had a run in with a cougar and her cat like reflexes and extreme athleticism are I am sure why she survived and the other colt didn't... But now I have to work on M.E.L.L.O.W! I ended up not getting back into the house until 11:30! Stetson liked it, it gave him some time to catch up with his dear friend.... the X-Box... He had an intense battle going on the football field. Then we were off to Bend! We went and got our Christmas photos taken ;o) Super excited to see how they turned out! Then we ran a few errands and met mom and dad at Shoji's for dinner. Dad had never been. I ordered some Sushi. Mmmm and I had ordered some California Rolls since dad was not keen on the idea of any raw fish... I got him to try one piece and he was not impressed AT ALL. Good thing dinner made up for it. If the menu consisted of only sushi, we would have been in trouble. Stetson ordered some Spicy Tuna Rolls and they were HOT!!!!! My mouth was on fire, mom's too!!! We stopped in Redmond at the 7th Street Brewery, a friend of the family was having his traditional "Pub Crawl". We stayed for an hour, til they were off to bar #2 and then we snuck off and headed for home.

Sunday I had a barrel race. Cuda was FULL OF IT and was a total butt! But after some fine tuning he decided it is better to listen! I am glad we hit a barrel at this race, rather than at COBRA, (Central Oregon Barrel Racing Assoc.) I am sitting #3 in the COBRA series and they give away a saddle so it would have hurt me in the standings to hit a barrel there.... Whew, we got the ignorant run out of the way and I just know he will be a perfect gentlemen on the 21st for COBRA! HA!

We went to CA for Thansgiving and it was a nice trip. We left Thanksgiving morning and then came home yesterday (Sunday) morning.

We spent Turkey Day with Stetson's family. Black Friday Mom and I headed for Medford at 5am. We shopped all day and did not make it back to Crescent City until 11:30 that night! Whew, that was a long day! Saturday evening we went over to my Granny and Gramp's house for a second turkey dinner and boy was that some good cookin'!

CHRISTMAS CARDS

So I've been slacking. Here it is Mid-November and I have yet to work on getting Christmas Cards in the works. Before we moved to Central Oregon I was SOOOO good about sending Christmas cards out every year. The year before last, (our first year in Oregon) like a week after Christmas Stetson asked me, "What did you send out for Christmas Cards, I don't think I saw them?" I had COMPLETELY FORGOT!?!? He could not believe that I forgot and had not sent any out... I had sent them out for the 5+ prior years (since 2001) and I looked forward to it every year and that particular year... it had COMPLETELY slipped my mind! Last year I was a good little girl and got them out. I won't mention the fact that I was a huge procrastinator and got them back from the printer like 2 days prior to Christmas. The point is, I got them out. People MAY have not gotten them by Christmas, but if they were to look at the postdate it was prior to Christmas :o) So here it is that time again and I just made an appt. to have photos taken.... The appointment it December 6th, then she needs like a week to do editing... so I have decided, This year your mailbox will bring Stetson and I's NEW YEAR CARD rather than a Christmas card. I will try and be better next year! Speaking of the fact that December is right around the corner... it brings me to think Stetson and I have been together since December 2000, isn't that wild!?!?!

Whoa! ok, so I am WAY tired today! I think I have reached the conclusion that staying out late two nights in a row, is just TOO much for me!?!

Friday night we went over to some friends house and had dinner, played games and I drank a whole lot of Malibu Rum. It was nice. It seems like lately I have been stressing about everything, so it was nice to forget everything and have a good time!

Saturday we went to the Columbia River Circuit Finals. The rodeo was a good time. I got to visit with many friends. Then afterward we went to the afterparty, and then to Timbers and closed the bar down! I was the driver, I owed Stetson since I was the drunk one Friday night ;o) It was 4am by the time we finally made it home! That is a long night for a sober driver!!!

Yesterday.... We had planned to go a bunch of projects, we ended up just hanging out in the house, recovering, from our sleepless weekend! :o)

Ahhhh.... 1:00.... Only 4 more hours of work! I seem to have a daily countdown anymore?

Today is a good day with the exception of the never ending headache I have.

I was going to go home and work with my horses this evening, but after opening my fridge this morning to find we are out of almost everything.... No Cheese, Milk, Lunch Meat...it's bad! I decided to make a trip to Redmond afterwork and do some heavy grocery shopping :o(

Am I the only person that absolutely hates wasting my evening away by strolling down aisles, getting behind slow people that see no reason to get out of your way and spending way too much money? I must tell you, I work in Prineville and the grocery shopping is HORRIBLE! There is Rays, where I can honestly say, I think everything is a dollar or two more expensive than say Erickson's or Safeway... There is Erickson's AKA the store with a TERRIBLE selection, Not to mention if you don't babysit your cart it will go rolling away due to the lovely rolling floors :o)That's pretty much it for grocery shopping in Prineville. We are in desparate need of a GOOD grocery store! Durring the week when I have stuff to get I stop in Terrebonne. Terrebonne's one grocery store is better than any of the grocery stores in Prineville, Now how pathetic is that?!?

So... I had a good evening last night. Stetson left yesterday morning and they were headed to Grass Valley to work so they were going to spend the night rather than drive back and forth. I was sad because I had a barrel race at the Redmond Expo Center. It was the first time I have had a chance to run in that arena, It's a big fancy arena :o) He had told me weeks ago he would go with me. Well, just before the race started he showed up. There was a delay in the job so he got to come home and see me make a nice run at the big fancy Expo Center :o) Cuda was good. We were two places out of the money :o( There were over 100 girls that ran last night so I was pretty happy with our end result, even though it did not bring me a paycheck...

We have a new member of the household... We have added another ferret to the current posse. I wish I would have remembered my camera so you sould see some photos of Hocker. He is just over a year old. Much bigger than our other two, but totally sweet. Cord, my nephew was toting him around Saturday.

Good Morning,

I just want to complain about this rediculous time change! It is the worst thing ever. When I get off work it's dark. Who wants to do anything outdoors when it is dark outside! I hate it... Grrrrr.............

So generally there is a group of us that get together and ride on Wednesday night, but we have cancelled this week. Stetson has a sore throat and is losing his voice. The bug just keeps going around. It's been 2 weeks since I had the darn cold!

Ahhhh... ok, now that I have vented, I feel much better :o)

Ok... so getting back to 100% seems to be a slow process... Now my throat is just a little bit sore (rather than a lot sore) and my runny nose has gone away (For the most part)? I am not sure which is worse, the runny nose? or the sore throat?

There is a group of girls that usually come out and ride on Wednesday nights and I have cencelled for tonight. In hopes that sitting on a couch all toasy and warm will help get me back to 100%.

COBRA (Central oregon Barrel Racing Association) is starting up this Saturday. The winter series, that I go to for the purpose of freezing my toosh off? Even though I grumble about it, I guess I really must enjoy it, or I wouldn't go?

Well, here it is Tuesday, and I am feeling much better than I was feeling on Monday. Monday I woke up with a runny nose and sore throat :o( Today, I still have the runny nose but the sore throat seems to have gone away :o) We had plans to go to the pumpkin patch last weekend and did not make it so we are going to make another attempt to go Sunday. I want to bake the pumpkin seeds, they are so yummy! :o)

This weekend brings... NOTHING! and I love that!

It is getting cold out so we are going to work on the indoor arena a bit this weekend. Although I intend to use the outdoor arena as long as possible to avoid the dust! :o) It seems like during the summer it gets turned into a HUGE STORAGE bin for everything so we are going to move everything out and fix a few broken boards so on those windy nights I need to ride, I can do it indoors and actually feel my fingers and toes! :o)

Stetson had class last night, but it was a field trip. Field Trip generally means, home early :o) He was home at like 7:30 and it was nice :o)

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is having a spectacular October :o)

I am sitting here at work... and I cannot even work! It is 62 degrees in our office right now. It was cold all last week, but not this cold! You can change the thermostat all you want BUT IT DOES NOT LISTEN. So today I called the property manager to tell her I CAN'T WORK LIKE THIS ANYMORE! My limbs are numb! I am going to have to start wearing a ski parka!!! I want a stable 72 degrees ALL YEAR LONG... How hard is that??? Ok now you have heard me grumble and mumble...

As always my weekend went by entirely too fast and it really did not feel like a weekend at all (That seems to be the trend) I think that is my que that I could really use a vacation. A vacation that is more than just a long weekend. However, I do not see that happening anytime soon... Big Bummer!!!

Well, Morning anyway!

grrr... the last few nights I have not been able to sleep! I sleep til like 2:00 or 3:00 and then I sleep for 30 minutes, awake for 30 minutes and this repeats until the alarm goes off. It's driving me CRAZY!!!! I NEED MY SLEEP!!!! a WHOLE 8 hours of it!!!!

So it's Thursday, I hate Tuesdays and Thursdays! They are such long days. Stet has class so he does not make it home until like 9:30. (Deep breath)

Plans for today would include, work, go lift weights on my lunch break, eat my leftover subway sandwich, Get off at 5:00, head to the gym to Spin for an hour, go home and ride my ponies, Get dinner going, do dishes, wait for Stet to get home so we can eat and go to bed... Not too exciting!

This weekend we do not have many plans so it should be nice. We are having some friends over to shoot trap tomorrow evening, and then at some point I plan to meet up with a friend that I never get to see. Her little family is making it over the hill to Central Oregon and I am super excited :o)

OH YES, I almost forgot, Stet has an appt. tomorrow at the eye dr. He is SOOO excited because he is getting fitted for contacts! He HATES wearing glasses. He has been grumbling about it since he got them. At the time they told him he could not get his prescription in contacts, but now it looks like he can :o)

I just had the BEST WEEKEND! whew... it was so nice!!!

We left Saturday Morning and headed to Gresham. Did a little shopping, lounged around in the hotel and then headed to the Sternwheeler on the Columbia River for our dinner cruise. What an amazing experience! We absolutely loved it! RELAXING! We had a window seat so we got to take in the many gorgeous views! The food was fabulous. Our Waiter was great. We would love to do it again some day! I think everyone needs to experience the dinner cruise!

Sunday we headed to Multnomah Falls. We hiked to the top of the falls and it was a wonderful time. The falls were beautiful! I am not into heights so there were a few moments I was feeling like "DAMN! That's a long ass way down!" but I managed :o) We stopped in Hood River after the falls, ate lunch at this cute restaurant, strolled downtown and found an ice cream cone along the way :o) Then we were homeward bound.

Last night we went over to my cousin's house for Dinner and we cooked crawdads. A whole pile of them! They were delicious, but it sure is a lot of work for a little bit of meat! I was so slow at cracking thier tales. Stetson could get three out to my one! he he....

We went to the High Dessert Museum on Saturday. Stet had never been there and I had not been there since I was a kid. They had a badger there on a leash. He was so cute! I wish they were that cute and cuddly in the wild!

So this Thursday is our last Calf and Can. If you did not know, we have been having a summer series out at the house. We run barrels and breakaway rope. I am currently leading the breakaway and sitting 4th in the All Around. I am really hoping to have a good next jackpot so Cuda and I can rack up some points and win some prizes! :o)

It appears I have been slacking on my blogging! My Granny told me so :o)

So here I am. Life has been pure chaos it seems lately. We are headed in 100 different directions all the time. This weekend We are headed to South Tahoe for a wedding, this will be our third wedding, three weekends in a row! After this weekend only one left for the summer, September 20th :o) Whew...

I am wondering what has happened to our weather, It feels like October weather! I keep thinking it will pass, but it's not. This time last year it was still in the 90's. I am sad to see summer winding down ;o( I wish it could be summer all year long!

Stet has to go back to class in another week and a half, I am bummed about that. It is SO nice when he is home every night. They changed his class nights from Mon and Wed to Tues and Thur. The good news is we get to watch Monday Night Football this year, The bad news is no city league volleyball for me this year. It's on Monday nights so I would go while he was at class, but If I were to play, I would not see him Mon, Tues or Thurs nights, AND I ride with the girls Wed nights.... so that just won't work.

Well, I guess that's all the news to report for today!

We celebrated with friends yesterday by going down to the Cove Palisades. It was a wonderful time. We spent the whole day at the lake, getting home at around 8:30 last night. Ahhh... It is so nice to have such beautiful weather! Last weekend turned out to be SUPER productive and I got so much done, I shopped for and went to a wedding shower, We got 6 (yes 6...) of our vehicles washed and cleaned out, got the patio swept, Rode both of my Horses, went to dinner with Dad for Father's Day and managed to watch the NBA Playoff game last night. One item on the "To Do" list that I did not make it too... I failed to ride my bike :o( Tonight I have spinning at the gym, so I will be far too tired for it, so the plan is to go for a ride tomorrow night, at halftime of the NBA finals :o) We have been trying to make it out for a spin for weeks now. So I am determined to make it happen...

In June of 2007 I carried the American Flag for the Sister's Rodeo, "The biggest Little show in the World" :o) and I just bumbled across a few photos online. That was Cuda's First experience carrying a flag, not to mention the HUGE crowd that screams all at once at the end of the national anthom, banners on the sides of the arena RIPPING IN THE WIND, rodeo clowns and chaos behind the scenes, It was all a bit overwhelming for him since Sister's has 4 performances. He was good for the first two and by the third he was a BASKET CASE so we opted to not do it again this year... You could feel his tension, When we were in the middle of the arena, his muscles were wound so tight he was actually shaking when we were standing in the middle of the arena. Not to mention he was absolutely EXHAUSTED from the experience. We will have to tackle a few smaller productions before we go back to Sister's :o)

CELTICS WIN!

Last night was spent watching the NBA playoffs :o) and the Celtics won with a HUGE comeback. I wanted to turn the game off early in the game, The Lakers were absolutely killing the Celtics. It was painful to watch, and then it turned around :o)

We made it through another week and here it is closing time on Friday :o) I want to go for a bike ride this afternoon. Hopefully I can talk Stet into it. I have been sitting at my desk, looking at the beautiful weather out my window... but I have not yet had the chance to enjoy it. A bike ride would be perfect for a nice Friday evening :o)

My "To Do" list is long for the weekend. I hope I wake up extremely ambitious in the morning!

Last night Stet and I spent the evening watching the NBA playoffs. We were very sad to see the Celtics lose :o( Not so much because we are huge Celtic fans, but more for the simple reason, I HATE COLBY BRYANT and the Lakers! All the people who try and compare Colby to Michael Jordon need to be shot, Colby does not even have ONE Championship ring! Well, I won't continue to rant... Even though I could.... It was a nice night. Stet made a Seven Layer Dip and it was super yummy to munch on. I made dinner at halftime. Other than that it was just a relaxing evening.

News Update: I think I forgot to update you all about the pound puppy we brought home for Ganny and Gramps, THEY LOVE THE DOG :o)

PACKED WEEKEND

So all those things I said I would like to do in my last post, didn't happen... another time!

My weekend turned into a crazy event packed weekend. We were not really expecting that but we did have a blast!

A friend from High School was in town so we all went to Timbers Friday night. That was a SUPER fun night and we made it back to a friends house to crash at 2:30 in the morning! We never do that... not make it home!

Saturday a group of us took jeeps up into the Ochocos. Stetson really got to test out the jeep with the new lockers and it did great! He is SOOO happy with it, AWESOME! Then when we got back we went and had dinner at the Terrebonne Depot (they have SUCH yummy food, if you have not been there, I highly recommend trying it!) Then my friend who was in town met us there, we went back to the house and hot tubbed and watched a movie. I got HARASSED about the movie, It was called "Feast of Love", Morgan Freeman and Selma Blair were both in it, I didn't think it could be that bad... but it was most certainly not good. There is a plot with like 3 or 4 different couples and you see them having a LOT of sex! You get to see lots of boobs and butts if you're into that?!? Not one I would recommend.

Sunday I went and ran barrels in Madras. Cuda was feeling good! We had a really nice run. Then at 4 we went to a "Cinco De Mayo" BBQ. Really it was just an excuse for everyone to get together and drink a beer. We made it home by 9:30 and that was my PACKED WEEKEND in a nutshell!

Granny and Gramps will be here today. We will soon know if she likes the Humane Society pup! I'll keep you posted on that :o)

It looks like there is sunshine in the horizon! WHOO HOO! Well, for a few days anyway. I hope everyone had a great week, mine was pretty uneventful and no real plans for the weekend. It seems like that may be a first? At some point I wouldn't mind going to Bend and visiting the Whole Foods Store, REI and Trader Joe's. I have yet to make it in Trader Joe's since it opened. I hear it's pretty chaotic, maybe some of the chaos has seized since they've been open about a month now. Hopefully anyway :o) I have been doing my Spin classes for 3 weeks now, 5 classes. I only got one class in the first week. and I still LOVE it. It's an AWESOME workout!!! AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!! :o)

This week seems to be going by SO SLOWWWW......????? Am I the only person out there that feels like this??? I think it's the weather. I am SOOOO BEYOND ready for some nice Spring weather, Green grass and blooming flowers, shorts and tank tops! I did some planting last weekend and I think my poor flowers are FROZEN! Brrr.... It is snowing outside my window this very minute.....

This weekend Stetson and I are going to tackle a HUGE task that we keep putting off. We just can't do it any longer, Chewy needs a haircut!

Here's the story of Chewy (and Hector).....

When we moved into our house (in May of 06) the tenants before us up and left without their dog and cat. They were left behind, beacuse there was no room in the new house for them..... So, when we moved in - we inherited a dog (Chewy) and a cat named Hector. Hector is pretty low maintenance but Chewy weighs like 80 pounds, eats like a horse and has LONG LONG hair that tends to attract burrs, matts, leaves and sticks.... and when we do let him inside, he brings the great outdoors in with him and leaves a nice little pile of debris and dirt, so he is WAY OVERDUE FOR A SERIOUS HAIRCUT....

I love Wednesday nights... this is the night that a bunch of girls come over and we ride horses all night :o) Since Stetson is done with class for the summer, the boys come along and go shoot rifles, drive around or look at the jeep (Stet's current project).

Another reason I love this Wednesday....Before I go home and ride, I am going spinning at the gym. I love it! What an intense workout! Starting next week I will go Mondays and Thursdays rather than Monday and Wednesdays. I am even more excited for that! I am going to get off work at 4:00 and go, rather than going at 5:00 on Wednesdays. That means I do not have to be in a big rush to get home where all the girls are waiting on me...

Random thought of the day: Yesterday I was forwarded an excel template, you put your birthdate in and it tells you Like 20 facts. It tells you how old you are to the day, how many months you've lived, How many hours you've lived, Approx. how many hours you've slept.... Anyway, I learned that I was born on a Thursday... I don't think I knew that???

What an awesome weekend! Saturday and Sunday were so nice! It was in the 80's both days... and now today it is raining? Oh, how I can't wait for summer!

Saturday I had a barrel race, Cuda had a good day. I think he ran some of his best runs yet! :o)

I got go ride my three (almost four) year old filly on Sunday. She was so good! :o) I ride her all the time in the arena, but we ventured out to the great outdoors this weekend. The dogs tagged along and on the way home I had to keep stoping because the poor dogs had no idea what they were getting into and they could not keep up.

Stetson Spent the weekend working on the jeep while I was off at my barrel race and riding on the butte Sunday. It is slowly getting close to being finished! He is putting lockers in and changing out the gears. It has been quite a project for him.

Last night I hosted a PartyLite candle party at my house and it was a huge success! :o) There have been so many candle parties, I was not sure how it would do. I know I am starting to get a bit "Candled out" myself. BUT now mom is doing a party next month, and my sister is booking a party the following month.... Soon, I will have a lifetime supply of candles :o) Thanks for everyone who made it! and also thanks to everyone who put in a catolog order. I ended up getting like $240.00 in product for $39.00. I LOVE SAVINGS :o) I got to get all things I have been eyeballing at all these parties....

This is Avrey. Our familys have been long time friends since I was a kid. She was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia in October. The diagnosis was absolutely STUNNING! It just blew my mind, the family is so active and healthy!?!?

Monday night I went to a benefit dinner for her in Redmond. It was SO wonderful to see all the support! People were out in the community getting auction items donated, the auction was a huge success. The restaurant staff all donated thier time to work the event. The wine and all the food was donated that the restaurant cooked. It was truely amazing to see a community come together to help a family in need!

Cancer in children is more common that most people realize. Childhood cancers behave very differently than adult cancers and the survival statistics are not as promising. Furthermore, the incidence of childhood cancer seems to be increasing. Please join us in increasing awareness of childhood cancer facts and statistics.

-Cancer is the number one killer of children by disease. It is the second leading cause of all childhood deaths exceeded only by accidents.

-One in 330 children will develop cancer before the age of 20.

-On average, 46 children are diagnosed with cancer every day in the United States.

-Approximately 12,400 children were diagnosed with cancer in the year 2000.

-Each year, about 3,000 children die from cancer - more than from asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies, and pediatric AIDS combined.

-Only about 20% of adults with cancer show evidence that the disease has spread to distant sites on the body at diagnosis yet 80% of children are diagnosed with advanced disease.

-In the past 20 years only one new cancer drug has been approved for pediatric use.

-Only 3 % of the budget from the National Cancer Institute goes towards Pediatric Cancer research. (That's 3 % for ALL kinds of Pediatric Cancers combined!)

-The incidence of childhood cancer is increasing. The cause of this is unknown.

-Pediatric cancer funding is nominal in comparison to other more publicized diseases such as pediatric AIDS or juvenile diabetes which increases awareness each year.

-Most adult cancers result from lifestyle factors such as smoking, diet, occupation, and exposure to cancer-causing agents. The cause of most childhood cancers in unknown.

-Approximately 70% of children with cancer participate in research trials compared to only 3% of adult cancer patients. As a result, many of the advances in adult cancer treatments are due to breakthroughs in childhood cancer research.

-The government recently CUT the budget for Childhood Cancer research.

-As a nation, we spend $14 BILLION per year on the space program, but only $35 MILLION on childhood cancer research per year.

-The symbol for childhood cancer is the gold ribbon

1. I moved to CA, lived there for 5 years, and missed my ponies the whole time when I never thought I would.

2. I chew my nails and I would REALLY like to quit permanently!

3. I tend to be a bit of a neat freak.

4. I am estatic for Stetson to be done with his apprenticeship in 2 more years. Half way there.

5. I always feel like there is never enough time to get "me" things done, Sit down and read a book, CLEAN MY HOUSE, Play with Buzz, go to the gym more, ride more than two days a week.... I need more massages :o) and vacations :o)

6. I love my job but there are still times (like now) when I just don't want to be here.

7. I want to go back to selling real estate in a few years when Stet is done with class to avoid the 8-5 work hours.I like flexability! I also like to go home when I am done with my work!

8. I would rather have a few great friends than MANY "friends".

9. When I see people I have not seen in years in town I duck and hide so I do not have to sit and recap my life since the last time I saw them.(terrible I know!) Unless it was unavoidable and they saw me first :o(

10. My goal is to not have to pay oodles of unexpected taxes next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I mentioned that we went and looked at some pudelpointers last weekend, but I think I neglected to mention that we went to the humane society...

Granny and Gramps had a little dog named Muffin and it must have been 5 YEARS AGO, that she died of old age and they have been "looking" for a dog for like 2 years! Granny finally found the "perfect" little dog online from a rescue. So she filled out like a five page application.... to get denied. The Rescue said they were too old and the dog would most likely outlive them! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! That would have been the PERFECT home for any dog! I was so furious! Granny was crushed!

ANYWAY, I found a dog online that was at the Humane Society here in Bend. We went to look at the Pudelpointers last weekend and it ended up that the guy with the dogs lives RIGHT accross the road from the Humane Society.... We decided to stop to look at this little dog. She was so cute and sweet, she is a fetching machine so Grandpa could go play with her in the yard... I called mom (she had to make the "final" decision) and made her come to Bend and look, anyway, we ended up taking the dog home with us :o) I finally get to write about it becasue mom just told Granny about the dog :o)

Hopefully she likes her because we do not need another dog! Everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed!

She weighs about 20 pounds. She is smaller than the photo makes her look...

Stetson has this week off from class (for Spring break), then one week back and then NO MORE SCHOOL UNTIL SEPTEMBER! Yahoo!

He is in an Electician Apprenticeship and he has class Mon. and Wed. nights in Bend from 6-9pm. It stinks! The good news is he's half way done! 2 years down, 2 to go! The class starts in September and goes until early April and he gets a month off for Christmas, so it is not THAT terrible, but it sure is nice to have him home Mon. and Wed. nights! :o)
